The Meadows Tour of Edinburgh, which I first wrote about here, is almost at the end of its two week run. It seems appropriate to give an update on it.
What was the Meadows tour?
It’s an hour long walk around part of one of Edinburgh’s tremendous green spaces. The tour includes details of the natural world, the social history of the area, and more than anything a deeper local connection.
Both for myself and for many who joined.
How did the tour do?
It has been two weeks of beautiful cherry blossoms. I have learnt much while doing the tour. There’s always more to learn about a subject and the green space contains a surprising amount of detail. The Meadows is rich in soil quality, unearthed treasures, and novel secrets.
To add to this, it has been nice to meet people and to take selfies.
It has been great for reviews on Google Maps, currently 46 but I want 100 of for June.
All in all, it has been filling a need in the city which other guides have not tried to fill, and so the thinking now is that I’ll keep it.
I love to tell special stories that no one else has.
How will the tour of the Meadows work moving forward?
Pretty similar to how it worked before. Pay what you think it’s worth, as explained in the link and on the tour itself. Bookings available at this link. One difference is that instead of it being an every day at 10am, it will be limited to 10am on Saturdays, weekly.
In this way, a truly miraculous part of the city can be appreciated year round.
