Background
Almost 7 years ago, I was born in a town called Pumpherston. It gets called Pumphy sometimes. I was raised amongst a lot of half-brothers and sisters, but they had a different dad as mine was a Lothario pug named Frank who got my mum pregnant too short after her last one. She was very tired when I was a baby. It was a lovely house, a bungalow, kind of like a cottage. I got to hang out in the garden and my favourite time was when the man who looked after me used to feed us all ham while he was smoking.
I still look expectantly at anyone smoking, in case they have ham.
When I was a couple months old I was ready to leave the nest and that’s when I moved in with Fraser in the big city.
Onto touring!
I never picked the tour guide life, but that was Fraser’s job and I’ve loyally stood by him. It has its ups and downs because Edinburgh is full of hill and stairs.
What it also has is many restaurants and pubs, and Fraser shares food or buys me my own on occasion. I’m particularly a fan of Mum’s: Great Comfort Food as they are always good for a sausage and a scratch. I’m not averse to a cosy pub with a pie, either. Fraser wrote more about those here.
It must be said, I’ve picked up a lot. I’ve heard variations on the same tour a few hundred times. It never gets boring though because the guests are different and now and again, Fraser makes a new joke that actually lands. I’m happy when he does well because then I get extra sausage.

In conclusion, I love my life in the city. It’s full of sausage and interesting times.
